Thursday's thought....Faith of the Mustard Seed.....Quilt Festival! Carrot Seeds....Blogland....WAHOO!!!

As you will read below, Judi the Green Fairy is going to be the guest speaker at the Quilt Festival this weekend.  I have my own little Judi trunk show going on as Roxy and I are quilting these batiks...I have pictures of Judi's quilting laid out on chairs and table top and referencing for ideas....I can't wait until her book comes out so I can buy one and use it and give her more royalties..Moo-La that is!

I love swirlies as you most likely know and having fun revisiting a design I did on my Organic home...Begin with the spiral in the center then do spirals off the final round outline to make a type of sunny floral design...

Not showing up real well in this pic and my pebbles are less than stellar but I am having fun with swirls...

Matthew 13:31-32.....

"The kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of a mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than all of the herbs, and becomes a tree so the birds of the air come and  lodge in its branches.".....

The tiniest "fresh squeeze", a smile, a card in the mail saying HI, a surprise on the doorstep, a kleenex....Teeny tiny things with potential for such impact and HOPE and LOVE!

I am off to CELEBRATE this quilt festival this weekend.  About 2 hours away in a tiny town in Utah and the beauty is going to be unreal!!! Mom is meeting me there and I cannot wait!  Guess who is the guest speaker for this festival....

YEP...GREEN FAIRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Carrot Seed.......

In his essay "Ruth Krauss and Me," author Maurice Sendak says "that perfect picture book, The Carrot Seed, the granddaddy of all picture books in America, a small revolution of a book that permanently transformed the face of children's book publishing. The Carrot Seed, with not a word or a picture out of place, is dramatic, vivid, precise, concise in every detail. It springs fresh from the real world of children."

Blogland.....

Planting seeds of inspiration, encouragement, support and LAUGH OUT LOUD moments....Miss Bacon and Eggs shared with me a seed of beauty last night...Have you seen the ceramic tiles of Gwen Marston quilt blocks?....watch out.....you may want a garden of them popping up in your home!

Have fun with your mom, enjoying the colors and delights! Love Green Fairy - joyfully making a quilt for her Romania trip right now! I've seen those tiles...can't you just imagine those in your kitchen backsplash? Cooking might be way more fun!
