My Grandma was left with two very young daughters and was 5 Months pregnant with my Mum. She never married again and brought three young children up on her own and in those days there wasn't much help, her life cannot have been easy. I too would have to say Mom, who at 72 still is the quiet, super volunteer and activist. She drives for the American Cancer Society, sits with cancer patients in hospice care, volunteers at the local hospital, walks precincts, you get the picture. She is a member of several knitting groups and a sewing club for over 45 years. What and example and inspiration.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15829725873851595332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112837131584125572.post-32583293524999731392011-02-18T12:47:35.775-08:002011-02-18T12:47:35.775-08:00My mum who died in 2000

When we go out in public, someone will see her and start telling stories about the quilt she made for one of their children. In one case, the baby boy was grown and his children were using his quilt that my mother made for him 35 years ago. My mother taught me to quilt and still coaches me. alternate email mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) comMarcia W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11895729581181426478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112837131584125572.post-16547702920186525622011-02-16T15:03:12.102-08:002011-02-16T15:03:12.102-08:00I would honour my aunt Cecily. She raised six children mostly on her own and saw two of them pass away before she did. She came to work at an alternative school in the Yukon when she was in her sixties - always an adventurer. And always cheerful and looking for the positive things in live. I got to tell her I loved her over the phone hours before she died.Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17104565945520530658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112837131584125572.post-88063641053144389882011-02-16T10:47:12.065-08:002011-02-16T10:47:12.065-08:00I think I've finally got the gremlins out of m...I think I've finally got the gremlins out of my blog and you are back!!
