Dear Coulson my 2 year old nephew had a wonderful time being the photographer for the announcement of the giveaway! 

This smile is gratitude for playing with me and also a dedication to my late sister in law, Milla, who lives among angels and her spirit lives on!  This giveaway took on new meaning for me with the news of her death as I perused back through the warmth that you all were a part of whether wrapping in a quilt or sharing in the posts!  Hugs help mend a sad heart.

Celebrating.... my nephews, sister and how tenulous life is...

I am in Ohio and having the time of my life giggling with my two young nephews and playing with my sis... And because of my travels I apologize but will be announcing giveaway winner on Monday when I return home. I have so loved everyone's fun comments about the giveaway and thank you for your visits and photos!

Last evening I had a good cry in bed and felt overwhelmed with grief and happiness at same time. Knowing I would not be able to sleep without composing my thoughts, I created a little piece and emailed to dear friends to be able to "talk" it out. The support I received was overwhelming and humbling.

Tonight.... Was last night
Tonight... Is tonight....
Last night I watched the sliver of moon out my window and a loved one was resting and preparing to give life to others...
Tonight I CELEBRATE her life that lives on in people who received her heart, lungs, eyes today.
Tonight I celebrate my brother, Milla, surgeons, God

Wednesday WOWS or should I say... BOW WOW WOWS?!

Linda from http://straystitches1.blogspot.com sent me this adorable pic of her pinwheel floral wrapping up Weasley and Snickerdoodle, I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love how the pup on the right seems embarrassed but willing to play along and Mr. Right is saying, "Do I have a double chin in this pose?"  Pinwheels have always been a fav of mine!

"These are two quilts that are pretty special, they are with my daughter Em and Jen.  Em's is the lovely ocean blues, greens and aquas- lovely jewels colours and is based on a pacific design by a NZ quilt designer and friend, Donna Ward.  I made this for Em for her 21st and we flew over to Canada to celebrate with her.The quilt for Jen is a stylized interp of our native Nikau palm and I backed it with polar fleece so it could be really snuggly. Both hold a whole lot of Mumsy's love so that the girls can wrap them up in my love even though I am on the other side of the world."


And that is why we quilt!.....at least 1 fabulous reason if you ever need to convince someone of the vitality of this art!

I love that I am headed to the desert wilderness this morning to visit my clients and these fabrics remind me of the warmth of my homeland and the greens of Maree's homeland....A GODWINK FOR SURE!!!!  How fortunate are Em and Jen to have been gifted these works of art?  ENJOY and Ciao for now!

New wonky star and idea for the second Seuss quilt....

My past year has changed with double the fun and hence double the quilts when making quilts for my special twin nephews.  Their bedroom is Dr. Seuss and so the little quilts are going to be their Christmas Eve quilts.  This is my plan for second quilt..patterning after the below owl baby blanket I made last spring.. Every so often I have to JUST HAVE TO return to my favorite, the wonky star!

Speaking of owls....Tomorrow is Wednesday and you know what that means....FUNBUS trip to the Wilderness.  Snow today so mud tomorrow....I could have some fun photos of natural mayhem!

And guess who turned 6 months 2 nights ago.....I know this is a stretch!  Auntie is in twin heaven as Raiden and Timothy patiently put up with me wrapping us all 3 up in a quilt for a photo.  Was so much easier when they were teeny but their personalities are beyond precious and so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The front of this quilt is on my blog sidebar for those who are new to my blog and have not witnessed the gorgeous quilting by Green Fairy!!!!! on this quilt and everything else she blesses with her artistry.

I awoke from a lovely nap this afternoon and POOF! Gail had sent me this photo of her daughter wrapped in a quilt she made for her for her dorm. I can imagine that there have been a lot of wrapping-ups when homesick for mom or the struggles of first year at college.. Jump to thecozyquilter.blogspot.com and enjoy a visit with her! She and I are both so blessed to be fans of Erin at Vesuviusmama.  I smile as I think of the many blog posts I have read this past spring of mom's sending children off to college with quilts fresh for the new chapter in life! I made one for my oldest when he graduated from high school and remembering the emotions as I created it and how quickly the time goes in raising children.

Monday's Mantra...."I just can't stop!" and the fuzzy pics are gone and crisp ones excited to share!..

 I am playing with the idea of having a Dr. Seuss Village as an applique panel that I create and then wonky border but still early in the planning stage....SO much fun to dilly dally around with!  Below are 2 closeups of top half and bottom half.

I am playing with ideas for the first block.  Dr. Seuss is so fun isn't he?  He was definitely a pioneer in the wonky!!!!

Funny how quick work goes when you take a 15 minute break :). 

I can hardly sleep at night as I am thinking up the next wonky quilt using these fabrics and will be using patterns in Dr. Seuss books for templates for the applique pieces..... I can't wait to get down and WONKY with this quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!  Anyone else up at 3:00 am this morning figuring out a quilt? or the dreaded addiction of bloghopping?

Well....I have been piecing up a storm and it is time to don the Free Motion foot....So to get a little practice in, Roxy made this little Get Well Soon card for you if a sad heart or sniffly nose is your nemesis tonight!

  This is also a monumental teeny piece because the tension is perfect on top and bottom, I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE!  I am just a little excited!!!!!

And if the card is not the magic medicine, a bag of Fairy Dust to sprinkle on you...

The little projects can be so instantly gratifying and I get so excited for when this will arrive in a special someone's mailbox in the next little while....

And. The House That Love Built turned on the lights in the upstairs windows and got a door at Lowe's....Now it's a house!!!!!!

As I have worked on this little wonky neighborhood, my mind keeps going back to the adage, "It take a village" and think of all of the people who have impacted my life both as a child and as an adult and also my children....

And now the Village People are singing in my mind and my arms are in the shape of Y..M..C...A...

How did we go from Get WellCard to the Village People?  Too zany is too fun!

Ever noticed how many DOTS are in the game world? Of course this is my favorite since in the shape of a cross!
