Stashbuster up for grabs this week! CELEBRATING Camping trips....and a Kaffe Fassett bouquet

Leave a ditty about a camping silly memory, tradition or just what comes to mind when you think of this Americana activity and you will be entered in the above quilt giveaway.  I will announce the winner next Monday.  I needed a project to hand quilt  while camping this weekend so this is it...  We are off to the gorgeous hills this weekend if weather permits and the photos will be AWESOM!  Always love a good weekend of redneck fun!

Preshy, I hope you will enjoy your wonky Kaffe Fassett bouquet! I finished the hand quilting this evening and now I just thave he binding and that will be my project tomorrow.  I love this quilt for its spirit and zing and it is definitely out of my comfort zone of using a lot of bold colors with no pale relief.  The fun bonus to this quilt is on the back I used wonky daisies that my sis had made and so it is a gift from us both.

I was about 13, and my aunt and uncle bravely took my sister, their 2 girls, and me camping. We walked around, and followed some people to a corn field. We thought we were on to something, and acted like it was a treasure we found. Went back to the campsite, cooked it, wondered why it was only so-so, and then later realized it was cow corn. Never mind that we stole it. I guess God got us for it!

Such lovely memories.....!! Since I was a little girl I know we (my parents, brothers and me) were caravaning every summer! We (my DH and me) went on with the experience as we got married and had children.....
Such fun, little adventures and especially those cosy campfires every night.
Just the feeling of happiness...... ;)))
Hope you enjoy your trip and have a marvellous time!! Love!

I don't have any camping stories, but we did do a lot of fishing. I think about how my daughter always played with the bait (blood worms, meal worms). She's 17 now and won't go near a fishing rod let alone a worm. Yuck!

I have been tent camping ONE time in my life. At the time, I think it was punishment for my best friend that she be forced to go with her parents camping...I of course went along...being all of 12 or 13 years old and stuck like glue to my best friend! I remember having FUN! goodness, and i remember a cigarette or two that we sneaked out of someones purse...yuk! but I also remember our one night camping trip turning out to be about 3 days of fun! thanks for jogging my memory em! Have a great weekend!

I remember camping with my family and my parents giving my little sister her first Dr. Pepper. That night, all I saw all night long was a diaper clad toddler darting from one end of the tent to the other... over and over and over. This is one of those memories that sticks fresh in my mind; I can still hear her giggling as she ran! LOL

Jennifer :)

PS... Don't enter me in the giveaway but I did want to share my memory and tell you that I love the "camping" quilt.

I love your style. I love to camp. We used to have a camping trailer that we went with our kids camping at least once a month each summer and sometimes into the fall. I always had fun. Finally we sold it after most of our kids were getting older. I was sad that my husband wanted to sell it but his job just didn't give us time to use it. After it was sold my husband confessed to me that he hated camping all those years and he was so happy after the camper was gone. I couldn't believe it. I had no idea!

We used to chase the bears on our camping trips! I hope my son doesn't get the same idea!

Patrick and went camping in West Virginia before the boys were born. We were out in the forest setting up when it suddenly started to rain, and when it rains in mountains of West Virginia, it seriously pours. I hustled to the car while Patrick was trying to pick up the food and tent and stuff. He got so soaked, he came and got in the car and took off his clothes. Then he went back out to rescue our stuff. Imagine him running around the campground with nothing on but tidy whities!

Hi Em, thanks for the message. I've been camping a few times, but I guess I not much for ruffing it. I never seem to catch a fish and I don't like sand in my clothes. Was a wuss!

The first (and last) time we camped we borrowed a friend's tent--it rained heavily that night and made the top of the tent sink in all over! Not being campers, we didn't know we weren't supposed to touch the tent to pitch the water off since it would make it start leaking. I had four little ones sleeping in wet blankets with water dripping all over the place all night long....not my most favorite memory as a momma trying to take care of her young-uns!

But... that camping trip didn't turn me off from visiting our friend's campsite, eating chili and smores, soaking in the campfire atmosphere, and then heading home to sleep in our own beds! A perfect camping experience!

Howdy, Em! We used to camp anywhere we could water-ski in the midwest. I remember camping in Shelbyville, Indiana and waking up to a terrible rainstorm. My sister and I snuck out of the tent and into the warm, dry Suburban where we we heard over the airwaves, "Elvis Presley was found dead this morning..."
I also remember getting up right before the sun so that we could practice to slalom ski on the water that was as smooth as glass.
Ah, good times!! thanks for bringing me back & I enjoyed all the other stories, too!
Celebrating quality time...

Hi Emily,
I'm going to play along, but you can keep my name out of the drawing :). I feel so blessed already and want to give the other entrants a better chance!
Ok,so I don't have one specific camping memory, but I do know that I am soooooooo thankful to my mom for going along with the camping thing when I was a kid. I know it wasn't her fav thing to do, especially since most of the prep burden fell on her (and with a fam. of 7, the prep was huge!). But anyway, I believe that's where the love of the outdoors that is tucked in my heart began. I hope you have a fun weekend!

My husband is not at all interested in camping, but I am trying to ease my kids into it. For Jason's 7th birthday last August, I borrowed an ENORMOUS tent from a co-worker and set it up in the yard, and allowed my boys to invite 5 other boys to spend the night in the tent with us. What fun! Everyone had a flashlight, and we took a night walk up into the National Forest behind my house, then rushed back to all huddle in the tent together as night creatures rustled around outside. Some of them were pretty scared, but we all made it through the night! I was so proud of them.
