Midas and Mary are the Wednesay Wonders! Let's play and giveaway a surprise!

Please join me in CELEBRATING WOMEN!!!!

I have been adding to this post as my Mary progresses and I hope that you enjoy the pics.  Fabric is packed and I will work on the applique for the border as I travel....Can't wait to include you in my adventures.

ready for applique in the border....hoping to include words also

Yesterday I snuck home from work, he he he....and wanted to play with some fabric I bought in Sisters at the Stitchin' Post.....As I was cutting, Victoria writes..."we forgot to discuss Lady of Guadalupe....."....and this is my project I was starting as my phone beeped with her love...

REALLY?!!!!!!! YEP, I am not kidding.......

As I cut out my Mary fabric, I thought....I have got to run to Scrap Apple and buy some fabrics with gold....AND BOY DID THEY HAVE OPTIONS!!!!!

Midas had the Golden Touch and Scrap Apple did not let me down in selling his artistry....The quilt is in the early stage and so many ideas swimming in my little brain.....

May this Celestial celebration of a Wonderful Woman be ours for this Wednesday!

I am off to a very fun family CELEBRATION this weekend in Florida......there is POTENTIAL for some out of control quilting while I am there, wink wink wink!  I may have a fun secret to share if all works out logistically......Stay Tuned my Friends!

Just because....Let's have a giveaway....

Leave a comment of a wonderful woman you want to pay tribute to and I will choose the winner when I am back from Florida next week.  I will keep the CELEBRATION open until next Tuesday eve and remind you of it with each new post.

CELEBRATING WOMEN!!!!

Love, Em

My Mom is a wonderful woman I want to pay tribute to. She is a great example of living by faith. :)

I think I've finally got the gremlins out of my blog and you are back!! I would honor my mom, she told me at 17 I needed to make a quilt, and I did!

I would honour my aunt Cecily. She is deceased but I love her so. She was a WAC and drove a supply truck in Britain during WWII. She raised six children mostly on her own and saw two of them pass away before she did. She came to work at an alternative school in the Yukon when she was in her sixties - always an adventurer. And always cheerful and looking for the positive things in live. I got to tell her I loved her over the phone hours before she died.

My mother should be honored as an example of a good Christian quilter. When we go out in public, someone will see her and start telling stories about the quilt she made for one of their children. In one case, the baby boy was grown and his children were using his quilt that my mother made for him 35 years ago. My mother taught me to quilt and still coaches me. alternate email mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

Be Well? Good Health? Prayers and Hugs? no idea...do you have any?

Have a great trip and enjoy the sunshine, I'm jealous. I too would have to say Mom, who at 72 still is the quiet, super volunteer and activist. She drives for the American Cancer Society, sits with cancer patients in hospice care, volunteers at the local hospital, walks precincts, you get the picture. She is a member of several knitting groups and a sewing club for over 45 years. What and example and inspiration.

Mine would be my Grandma, my Grandad was killed in a mining accident in July 1912 he was part of the rescue team but was killed in a second explosion. My Grandma was left with two very young daughters and was 5 Months pregnant with my Mum. She never married again and brought three young children up on her own and in those days there wasn't much help, her life cannot have been easy. Linda

My Aunt Cleo was the most kind and loving woman I ever knew. She was my safe haven when I was a child and loved me dearly until the day she died.
I miss her everday.
