You put your right foot in, you take your right shoe off...and you shake it all about.......Play with me!

Have you noticed how all of the sudden something so everyday can  become an ovenight sensation!?..

Ordinary becomes EXTRAordinary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celebrating.....

the new  BUZZ, trend,...swap, CONVERSATION PIECE.....

When you saw this sock photo in the gadget bar on dear friends' blogs and double clicked......or on blogger.com.....or...

What did you think of first?  Your very first thought?......

I have a guess but I am not claiming super Grover powers so I will wait to see how many people leave the comment I have bets ons....

Tonight I bring up the very important topic, SOCKS.....just because I found this photo of a sock I made last year for a gift filled with treats and it got me thinking......

Since wee childhood we were told coal comes to naughty kids and now that coal is priceless in my heart when I think of lives risked to mine it in my hometown and the miracle of miners saved this past year....

Most important aspect of my job as a wilderness nurse in winter is reminding staff and clients importance of DRY socks, not placing to close to fire when warming, which socks are wiggy and which are hiking, drying them on shoulders and waitlines when hiking....sock exchange- the most valuable tool we can use each day for prevention of trench foot and nip and frost bite....and now the exchange is part of my life with the swap with Mary Lou....double meanings!
World War veterans who lost feet to gangrene and frost bite......Diabetic clients who check feet daily and signs of purple bring tears......

Socks that are silly socks, church socks as part of prepartion for the long-awaited job interview, the dreaded run in nylons....socks rolled up and used for throwing in Sock Wars at my house....

Sock Monkeys, Sock it to 'em sluggler, Eye Sockets, sock monster in the dryer that eats all of the socks..

and if you are Josh....the dearest Sock of them all

RED SOX!!!

Celebrating socks on this lovely Thursday eve....What are you CELEBRATING?

Love, Em

It's funny how we seldom give socks much thought until we are forced to do so. I'll celebrate socks with you!!

I want to celebrate socks too! I haven't worn matching socks for several years - once I heard the saying "Life is too short to worry about matching socks" that was it for me! LOVE IT! I am running now to post a picture of my sock celebration on my blog!!!

I celebrated my absolute aversion to nylons on Thursday by wearing a skirt and bare legs. Yup, in January. I need my head examined. But I refuse to wear nylons. If the legs God gave me aren't good enough, then, by golly, I'll wear pants or knee socks!
