I was so excited to arrive home tonight from the field and share this pic with you all.
What comes to mind when you are looking at it?
Can you hear my truck rumbling down the 2 track headed for a group of young boys?
Can you hear my heart as I sit, look at the road in front of me and cry and pray to God.
A path to heaven for dear Anthony and wonder if he is peeking from a cloud reassuring his mom and dad that he is ok and that he misses them.
So many stories in this pic.....My office today and I thank God! for the beauty!
Mom had this wonderful Quilters Newsletter in her trunk headed to a secondhand shop and I rescued it! Little did I know that it would be chuck full of inspiratoin and ideas for next projects! I shared this wonky quilt with mom and she said, "How about if we turn the squares into hearts when I am there in a couple of weeks?" Well of course I got crazy and said, "WAHOO! Let's do it!"
A collaborative quilt with me and mom... may you be in suspense of the fun to come, I know I am!!!
Love, Em

An awe inspiring picture! Have fun quilting with your mom!
gorgeous photo!
Thank you for sharing the wonderful photo. My first reaction was look at that beautiful blue sky :) I forget how truly blue the sky can be when all I see is blue tinted brown (smog) sky day after day. Sounds like you are going to be having tons of sewing fun with your mom!!
Gorgeous photo Em! It reminds me of one my Dad took waaay back when - the only one I know of that he took himself & actually framed it. Also makes me think of a book I recently read called "Heaven is For Real", by Todd Burpo.
(((((((hugs))))))
Blue skies have a way of wringing all the tears out, don't they? I can smell the air from here: dry, a little dusty, warm, and CLEAN. Marvellous!
I really like the way the wonkiness spills over into the borders--just like life!!!! the center squares into hearts? oh, that'd be quite a beauty!
What a beautiful sky. When I see a sky like that I think of my Mom and Dad looking down on me and smiling.
Isn't it wonderful working on a project with your Mom. My Mom and I used to work on things whenever I visited her. I love the quilt in the magazine. Hugs.
What a wonderful thing to see such BLUE skies! Oh I am looking forward to those hearts.
I've added that wonky log cabin pic to my gestation file ... what a find!
Oh, cool. That sounds like so much fun! Love that photo. I am often in awe of the beauty of the world when I see skies like that!
Looks like wagon ruts from wagons with pioneer women in back quilting, anxious to get to their new home?!?! :) Glad you have your truck!
LOVE catching up on ALLLL your posts EM!
