Stained glass and quilts......have you ever thought of your quilt sashing as the CAME?

The metal soldering in stained glass windows as pictured below is called CAME....

Mom's completed quilt top's orange stems announced, We are  CAME!"  to me this eve while I photographer and wished that she was still here playing with me.  Roxy and I are going to quilt it when she visits next and I wanted to lay out and start to get inspiration...That's what Green Fairy does :)....

I love when a quilt is hanging in a window and the sunlight shines through showing the seams and giving the quilt the appearance of a stained glass window.....This art piece is by a local artist, Johnny, and hangs in the window of his Greek restaurant, Mad Pita....LOVE LOVE the yellows!  I had the wonderful oppurtunity of meeting Johnny a couple of weeks back while on a lunch date with a girlfriend.  He was sitting with Jenny when I arrived and I made a comment about how gorgeous the stained glass pieces are...Johnny lit up and said, "I have never had a customer comment out loud and they are my hobby, I created them...."

I am thinking that I may want to play around with stained glass idea tomorrow.......HMMMMMMMMMM....

My newest purchase today.....I can harldy wait to see what projects it finds itself sewn into!  May be a quilt you one day win......

Friendship and sharing stories of the creative process with a stranger...

Recipe of Life.......

Love, EM

The stained glass is gorgeous as is your Mom's quilt. Indeed, one of the best recipes of life. Inspiration is everywhere when you open your eyes and mind. Looking forward to seeing your stained glass inspiration come to life.

I LOVE stained glass and have made a few windows myself. They are pretty fun. I love the ones that are very geometric, like this...sorta "frank lloyd wright" looking--go figure--that goes right along with quilting!

Hope you're having a good weekend!

The stained glass is wonderful. My DH wants to get started doing that sometime. He's been commenting about pieces when we see them. Your piece of fabric is so cute.
