I love this photo because of Roxy's lamp light mimicking the glow of the moons...
Grandpa Dave's birthday was on Flag Day, sure miss him! Mom said that he would not be more thrilled then if we bought a box of Flag Budweisers and toasted to his life- Well, when buying a 30 pack insure a lot of CELEBRATIONS...and under Grandpa is a copy of Judi's (Green Fairy) quilting that is inspiring me for this piece....I didn't use a contrasting thread to prevent mistakes showing up clearly.... another secret for us novices :).
the up close photo of Judi's quilting I am using as a resource...
Can you spy the small stars amidst the Cheerios and jet streams? My hope is that this gives the feel of the Aurora Borealis....
I love giving the leaves different patterns, kinda like fingerprints....each one different...
Growth rings....ripple effects of the trunk....strength or the core of the being.....
Bittersweet evening....quilting this tree while a branch of my family tree moves to Ohio this weekend, a joy to see the twin nephews grow their first year of life....And now I must share them with other family....
Love, Em

How cool!!!
Hey, Em! I sure am enjoying your blog and outlook on life! Beautiful quilts and quilting and attitude! On this post, besides the wonderful project, I noticed the stickers on your sewing machine. Where did you get them?

What a fantastic art piece! I love your quilting motifs on different areas. It's a bummer to lose close contact with beloved ones. Just think, though, how FB, Skype, and blogging let us continue to interact on a regular basis and to keep a close tie. And, sounds like you'll have good reason to mosey over to Ohio every once in a while and enjoy different environments in the varying climate zones~! Just more beauty to celebrate. :)
OH Em, love it! Fingerprints on the leaves is the perfect touch!
Beautiful...I'm going to put my big girl pants on today and try some FMQ again. Hugs.
Yes Em, you and Roxy surely captured the Aurora Borealis! I love the adventures you and Roxy are having. Now that things have calmed down a little here I'm going to put on my big girl panties and do the same.
Love the new quilt in the header. The quilting is beautiful.
I popped on over from Em's Scrapbag! You are a very creative and talented gal! Nice blog! 8-)
Oh Em! Your quilting!! No, !!!! Fantastic!
Catching up with all you have been doing. This quilting is fantasticly fabulous! Love your header's quilting too!

No dust collects on either you or Roxy, does it? You are such a dynamo!
One of MY grandfathers shared his birthday with Flag Day too! Maybe one of these days Ruby Blue and I will get to be as productive as you and Roxy are ;- )
Saw this under your needle when I was there. Sorry I've been gone so long and am so far behind on my blog reading. I just love Roxie. I shoulda gotten a photo with her, too. :-) I love what you're working on. What type of thread was that green thread you were using for the quilting?
