Tweet tweet...all complete
As I was hand stitching the branches in place and corduroy tabs for hanging, pictures from the Best Nest children's book would play in my mind. A favorite book of mine. Such a beautiful message about finding that perfect spot to make a home....and in the end...where the mama and papa bird, is where the baby bird finds joy....the Best Nest! or is it just how I want to remember the book....
May there be joy in your nest today! My nest has some big changes happening. Sean has "flown the coop" and is driving to Seattle for a month long project. I have never been this in charge as a parent for more than a weekend but am excited to make some solo memories with Noah. The cooking will be my biggest challenge and we may just be doing a lot of novel dinners such as yummy shakes and chess or....hot dog, licorice and dodgeball or...a real meal!
Tweet tweet! Em

Oh Em...it turned out so nice. The striped binding is great. You will have a great time with Noah. Doesn't matter what kind of food you make what matters is you will be spending time with him.
You are so very talented. I am happy you are a friend. Hugs
That is just awesome. You do such beautiful work and you are so creative! Love it!
WOW! I want to take a cozy break in that nest and be fed bons bons for a few hours! You'll do just fine without hubby. My guy travels A LOT...there is usually a day or two adjustment on leaving and returning, but otherwise it's just chirpy! :) LOVE to you Em!!!
Ur so awesome & so is your wall hanging!!
I love your little bird! This turned out so cute. Enjoy your time for the next month. You will be surprised how fast it goes.
This is so cute and very tweet!
Hugs, Deb
The fun is always more memorable than the food.
The first time I read The Best Nest was the night of my father's funeral. My twin sister and I (3 wks before giving birth to Donald) and our hubbies and our kids were all staying at a bed and breakfast, and we piled all the kids on the bed to read them a story. At first, I was upset that the female bird was such a pill, but when I got to the end, I knew it was just HORMONES! Now we own the book and read it pretty regularly. That's funny, I haven't thought of that night in quite a while. Your birdie is great. What are the dimensions?
Your wall hanging is awesome. Sorry your honey is going to be away for a bit... hope it goes fast for you. :)
God bless and keep you,
Sonia
A whole month! Wish I could be there to keep you company. Tell Shaun to call us if he wants a home-cooked meal.
Oh, Em, thanks for putting a link to our Malawi effort on your blog! And I LOVE your birdie piece! It turned out wonderfully!
My mom emailed me to tell me I cook like you :) Have fun with Noah, maybe you can sneak up to Seattle for a few days! Your birdie is great.

Good luck on your solo parenting flight
Tweet Tweet - It's really sweet!!
You & Noah are going to be 'batch'n' it for a while, huh? I really lucked out this week, when one of my friends wasn't thinking & thawed out 2 giant containers of home made vegetable beef soup - and she gave one to me!!! I just finished the last of it for lunch today. :D I do love not having to cook!!! heehee
Man, my year of single parenting was an interesting one! You two will have fun and build memories together. Love your Tweet Tweet quilt!
