Giveaway time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many "Godwinks" will happen to you this weekend?

As many of you may know...I love to study the gift card aisle and read and photograph them then post. This card was under the "I miss you" section. This seemed to be the perfect cartoon explaining a GODWINK....
A common Godwink for me occurs when I think of Grandpa Dave who died last summer and then I see a flag waving! His birthday was on Flag Day so we associate him with flags. I miss him so much!

Do you have a special person that is associated with an inanimate object? If so, please share and CELEBRATE!

Grandpa was an avid puzzler whether jigsaw or crossword. I created this quilt in the early days of my quilting fun and and hand stitched 88's all over for his 88th birthday. Still hanging in the apartment where he resided.

Another Godwink, I am thinking of Grandpa and someone brings me a puzzle! When in the wilderness or travelling to Price, I will be thinking of him and then a train will come by......he worked for the train all his life......

What a special guy, God is lucky to get to hang with him until I see him again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot imagine how many laughs they have shared together or who is helping who with the crossword puzzles. If you have read "The Shack" you will see how this scene would fit right into the novel....

Just being silly because God loves joy!!!!!

I was so delighted to awaken to Ria writing me a sweet comment on my email- so delighted that I made this funny face in bed to my kiddo...... Ria lives "across the pond" in a faraway land and talks of it being sunny today after so much rain. Yesterday I posted the above card.....A GODWINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta do it.....found the cutest prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 prize for an adult and 1 for a child.....Today through Monday at midnight, keep track of how many Godwinks you are blessed with and send at anytime, can keep updating as they occur. Each godwink you share you get a chance in the hat and if you simply want to say how many you noticed, then a chance will be submitted. Get kids involved!!!! If you prefer to call them "Godincidences" that is awesom too! Duff shared that catchy term with me when I posted about Godwinks a few days ago.

If you are new to Godwinks......read my recent post and have fun with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a nice, long conversation with my friend’s mom, Aida, about love and marriage last fall. She has been married to the same man for 49 years! He died 2 years ago and she was telling me that not a day goes by that she doesn’t miss him.
She was fatally hit by a truck while walking to mass Thursday morning and I have been crying ever since. But, this morning as I was lying in bed thinking about her, I remembered our last conversation and I could almost hear her voice telling me that she’s happy to be with Bob again and not to worry. My thoughts then turned to the man who hit her, but they weren’t the blaming, angry thoughts I had expected. I said a prayer for him and his family; what a horrible burden to carry for the rest of one’s life. I feel so much love for this man it is overwhelming: I mean that God has reminded me that we all deserve grace, and love, and forgiveness. Like the Grinch, my heart feels as though it has stretched 3 sizes.

My mom died Jan 2009 - she LOVED gardening, and her apartment building, (where she lived for 20 years,) had a dedication of the garden there that she worked on the whole time. Illegally, I might add. It was on a public grassy area outside the back door that she appropriated for everyone's enjoyment. It's now called "Vivian's Garden", and they keep it up themselves. We moved to the country and now when I work in our garden, and pick the fresh fruits and veggies, I think of her...

Every time I look at Orion's Belt I think of a dear friend. We don't keep in contact anymore (because his spouse is not comfortable with it), but I still am reminded of him every time I go out at night and look at the stars. Even though it's not a continuing friendship (that's all it ever was, we never were romantic) I cherish the things I learned from him and feel blessed to have Orion's belt as a remembrance.

As for Godwinks, I recognize them every time I look at my miracle boy. I am filled up with so much love and gratitude that I was blessed with such a beautiful son.

I actually just sent out an email to all family on both sides to fast and pray for us tomorrow in regards to bringing us another miracle. I long deeply for another little one. What brings me peace is knowing God is in charge and he wants to "wink" at us if it is for our good. SO GOD PLEASE PLEASE WINK AWAY!!:-)

Last night I received a phone call from my ex-sweetheart asking if he could make me dinner. I think this is a Godwink because He knew I needed some company and a gentle reminder that I deserve love, too.

Here's my entry:

I decided that it was time I included some spirituality in my blog, so I posted about a great example of Christian caring from one person to another. I was a little worried about getting a comment or two from offended readers, but instead I got a great thank you note from Em. I think God was intent on showing me I was doing the right thing. :o)

Thanks, Em!

I suppose that everyone has songs that remind them of people, so this isn't going to be particularly original, but here goes anyway. My father and I were estranged when I was growing up, and it took time to get through some pride and anger when I became an adult before we could begin to reconnect. But all through growing up, no matter how confused I might have been about my father, I knew that he loved me. And for some reason, that Neil Diamond song, Turn on Your Heart Light, always reminded me of my father and his undying love for me. Then, shortly before he died in a car accident nearly 5 years ago, Lonestar released a song, I'm Already There, that made me feel the same way. It seems that whenever I think of my father while driving in my car, one of those two songs will come on the radio, and I cry, every time. I miss him so much. Last year, on Father's Day, which also happened to be my son's 4th birthday, the boys, the hubby and I all went over to my mom's house to celebrate. I wore one of my father's old t-shirts in tribute to him. When I got there, my mom came out of the house wearing one of his old pairs of shorts, and we had a great laugh that we were both wearing his clothes on Father's Day.
